Band of Brothers

I watched the movie 'Band of Brothers' in awe and admiration for the courage and selflessness that was displayed by the members of "E" Easy Company in the 101st Airborne during WWII. In my mind all hero's to the core. One of my favorite quotes that stays with me is when Major Winters grandson asked him "Grandpa were you a hero in the war?" to which Major Winters replied... "No, but I served in the company of heros"

It's hard to be a Christian man in todays world. We are fighting a real war, with real consequences, real casualties. The Bible teaches that it is the mans responsiblility to lead the household both in the physical sense and in the spiritual sense. Satan is working hard to destroy those roles in our families and by doing so he destroys the family unit, another one of his tactics is to isolate men from one another, to make men islands unto themselves, and thereby to weaken them spiritually. How many times have you in your spiritual life seen a brother fall away and wonder if it was because you didn't say something, didn't do something, didn't interact with that brother when at that critical moment in their life they needed that interaction? . It is our goal with the Band of Brothers ministry to promote that closeness that Christian men should have for one another, so that we can strengthen one another, confess to one another, do those things that God told us to do, use those tools that He provided us with, help each other as we face the common trials and temptations of life together and to give our young men the examples that they will need as they go through life to live as Christian men.

We enjoy our times together, it may be something as simple as a game of dominoes or a round of horseshoes, or just sitting and talking. But the real goal is beyond that, the real goal is to glorify Jesus and to strengthen one another in the Lord, and the way to do that is to spend time with one another.
